Understand the Shape of a Range

See how opening and 3-betting ranges expand from tight to loose positions, and learn which hands get added first and why.

Make Better Big Blind Decisions

Learn how defense changes against tight and wide opening ranges, including when calling is enough and when 3-betting becomes important.

Focus on the Mistakes That Matter

Use EV loss to separate harmless borderline decisions from genuine leaks, then apply those lessons to real opponents instead of blindly following charts.

About the course

Limit Hold’em preflop strategy can look simple on the surface, but small misunderstandings about hand value, position, and range construction can create leaks that repeat constantly. In this course, Chris uses solver-backed ranges from his Lab tools to break down the most common preflop situations in LHE. You’ll study opening ranges, 3-betting, and big blind defense across both tighter and wider configurations, with an emphasis on understanding why the ranges take the shape they do. Rather than asking you to memorize every borderline hand, the course focuses on transferable ideas: why suited hands often outperform similar offsuit holdings, why small pairs can be overrated, how domination changes as ranges widen, when building a larger pot matters, and how to use EV loss to prioritize your study. The goal is a practical preflop framework you can adapt to the players and games you actually face.
